Professor Yong Sik Ok finished his BS, MS and PhD at the Division of Environmental Science and Ecological Engineering, Korea University in Seoul, Korea. He worked as a postdoctoral research associate in Korea and Canada. His research interests include remediation of contaminated soil and water, biosorption, environmental monitoring and assessment, nano remediation and climate change (soil erosion and carbon sequestration). During last 5 years, he published more than 90+ referred journal articles (Chemosphere, Journal of Hazardous Materials, Environmental Toxicology and Pharmacology, Water Science and Technology, Environmental Monitoring and Assessment, Mine Water and the Environment, Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry, Pedosphere, Geosciences Journal etc), 150+ scientific meeting abstracts, 10+ books and 10+ patents. Currently, he has over ten lab members including two post-docs, one full-time researcher and four PhD students. He teaches bioremediation, environmental pollution and remediation, soil pollution and biosorption.
